Matt Kirouac-York He/Him
A transplant to Oklahoma City after two and a half years of RV living, Matt is a travel, culture, and food writer with a passion for sharing Queer stories. A native New Englander, Matt began to explore his world early, gaining a culinary degree and writing about food and travel while living in Chicago, where he published two books. After selling his condo and buying an RV, he began writing about his adventures for major outlets such as Travel & Leisure, Thrillist, Condé Nast Traveler, and InsideHook. While on the road, he created, wrote, and hosted a travel podcast with iHeartRadio called Parklandia, which became the most downloaded travel podcast in the nation shortly after its debut. After settling in OKC, he was the first openly gay writer to have a story on the front page of The Oklahoman newspaper. In 2023, he was given a Hometown Hero Award from Visit OKC for his cultural contributions in the community and travel space. He lives with his husband Nathan and their dachshund, Finn, in OKC, and enjoys frequent trips to Disney World, national parks, and any pool where he can dangle his feet in from the side.
Hello!
Nathan Kirouac-York He/Him
A lifelong resident of Oklahoma, Nathan gained degrees in history and public relations, before evolving his passion for classic cars into a thriving sales and auction business headquartered in OKC. Already an avid traveler, keen to explore the world and learn about other cultures, he began joining Matt on work trips near and far, and honing his skills with video editing along the way. This led to a collaboration aimed at taking Matt’s work as a travel writer highlighting Queer culture in unexpected places to the next level, including sharing stories of his own via original articles and videos. He and Matt live in OKC, but split their time between places close to their hearts, like New Hampshire, New Mexico, and Northern California. Nathan enjoys driving his classic sports cars on tours or just sunny days on Route 66, and he still has trouble not buying every interesting old car he sees.
